I wear my Garmin watch just about every day, so I was happy to find ways to perk it up. My fashionable friend Heather (also an awesome athlete) let me copy her updated watch band. I ordered this set of three bands for $13.59. This listing also has options to purchase just one band for $6.99. The set comes with a tool to change out the band. I chose this particular set because the printing is into the actual material instead of printed on, so it should hold up better. I also like that several of the options have color schemes that will match the ring around the Garmin 235. My watch is mint green, and the bands I have match it well. I know that the Garmin 235 is also available in red and there are several bands that would match. I also see that they have a sort of Space Force camouflage, and I think that would match any Garmin.
This band is also compatible with other Garmin models, and they make bands for other types of watches. If you’re looking for a band for a particular watch, drop me a line at info@hackyourrun and I’ll see what I can find for you.
I have a few hundred runs in one of these bands. They hold up really well. The metal clasp has black paint on it that does come off after a few runs. Looking at the ad again I noticed that they have some options with a silver clasp, and I bet those don’t have paint that would chip off.
Another fun way to customize your Garmin is using the free Connect IQ app. There are a ton of options to change the fields on your watch. I personally like to keep it simple, because when I get runner brain I sometimes hit the wrong button. I do love the “face it” feature in this app. You can upload a photo for the watch screen. You get to choose if you want the analog hands or the digital format, and you can move that on the screen to work with your photo.
I personally like to use a photo of my dog with seasonal accessories, because she is a great running inspiration. No one gets more excited to go for a run than my dog. Please note; I do not condone making animals wear people clothing, it’s just plain wrong. You could use a photo of your family, a favorite finish line photo, or an inspiring landscape. Once you get it looking perfect in the app you can queue it up to be delivered to watch when it syncs with the Garmin Connect app.
This feature was previously a stand alone feature and has been folded into the Connect IQ. I think that it’s easier to sync and upload to your watch via the Connect IQ app, so I’m happy to see the change.
