How to Access Steamtown Marathon Change in Pace Data

If you haven’t made the acquaintance of Jupyter Notebook, GitHub, or Binder, but you would like to see the ranking of change in splits for the 2019 Steamtown Marathon: 

  • go to https://mybinder.org/v2/gh/hackyourrun/steamtown/master
  • click on the first line “steamtown analysis of splits.ipynb (it has an icon on the lift that is a notebook), which will open a new browser tab
  • along the top of the screen there are several options. Click on “cell” and on the drop down menu click on “run all”
  • you can see a sample of the results on the screen
  • go back to the first tab in your browser, there will be a new file at the bottom of the list “steamtown_pace.csv”
  • you can open the file here, but the format will be plaintext
  • you can click on the box to the left of the file name and from the list along the top of the page choose “download”
  • you can open the file with your favorite excel reader, or save in a format that you can use with your favorite software.
