Nespresso: My Favorite Caffeine

I’m not a perfect person, or a perfect runner. I like coffee. I try to keep my consumption to the moderate level and not drink it too often. For a long time I would have said that I didn’t like coffee to taste like coffee. I wanted my drinks to taste like an ice cream sundae with caffeine. I was a frequent Starbucks customer.

My husband (Best Husband Ever, BHE) operates on a higher coffee plane. He owns several coffee brewing options, a very nice coffee bean grinder, and we even own a whip cream maker. BHE likes his coffee to taste like coffee.

On a vacation, feeling fancy and carefree, we wandered through a fancy culinary/ kitchen supply store. We were offered a sample of Nespresso. I fully expected the Nespresso to be to espresso as Kurig is to coffee. I was so wrong. Nespresso is just wonderful. The flavor is rich and tasty just like a manually brewed espresso.

I was slow to agree to the purchase of the Nespresso machine. BHE won and was totally right (the story of our marriage). Nespresso pods are available in a caramel or chocolate infused option. I like to add a small amount of sugar, and we have a foamer for milk (Silk brand Almond unsweetened vanilla is my favorite).

Nespresso offers a lot of flavors and range of intensity. I like that they give a good explanation of how bold the flavor will be. I also really like that they’ve partnered with various organizations to offer coffees from Puerto Rico and Yemen.

I generally prefer a Nespresso to Starbucks, which has really saved me lately. I like to avoid any errands or groups of people I can. I work pretty much full time in an office. To be a good citizen, I try to avoid public spaces to keep my germs to myself. I have also developed some concerns about cross contamination at Starbucks, since they introduced oat milk.

There are a lot of versions of the Nespresso machine. You can often find pretty good deals on Cyber Monday on Amazon. I really encourage people to order pods directly from Nespresso. I have tried third party brand pods that can be used in the Nespresso machine, and they just made me sad. I can’t emphasize enough that paying for ‘real’ Nespresso is worth it.
